Recently published in Tobacco Control, a study by the Truth Initiative found that only a small percentage of adult smokers used JUUL in their attempts to quit smoking, undermining JUUL's claim that its marketing targets the cessation efforts for adult smokers. The study found that among those who had tried to quit in the last four years, 2.2% used JUUL alone, 10.3% used Nicotine Replacement Therapy (such as gum or patches) alone, 6.9% used other e-cigarettes, and 1.4% used JUUL and another method.
